Private rates give you control over start time and pace for your party alone, which matters more on longer trips (yurt stays, multi-day treks) where a mismatched pace affects the whole day, not just an hour.
If budget is the deciding factor, group rates deliver the same route for less. If flexibility or privacy matters more than the savings, private is worth it — check each tour page for whether a private version is offered.
