Kyrgyzstan's high country rewards travelers who can string several remote regions into one trip rather than picking just one — and a 4x4 with a driver-guide is really the only practical way to do that.
A common shape for this: Song-Kul lake, then on to Tash-Rabat, then further into the Naryn high country, five-plus days total with yurt-camp stays along the way. Routes can extend further depending on your time and interest — toward the Naryn border-zone lakes if permits allow, or looping back through different scenery entirely.
