Bishkek has several lift-served ski options within day-trip range, each with a slightly different character.
Chunkurchak is the closest, about an hour from the city, convenient for a half-day or full-day trip without much travel time lost. Too-Ashuu is further (roughly 120km) but tends to hold snow longer into the season and offers a bigger mix of terrain. Both run roughly late October through April, with conditions varying year to year.
Neither is a match for the terrain at Karakol's ski base if you're already staying there, but for a Bishkek-based winter visit, they're the practical local option without adding a multi-hour transfer to your day.
